Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch: Not Just for Kids!
As anyone who travels Interstate 10 near Picacho Peak would know, there is an Ostrich Farm, not a mile south of it. Many of you have probably been there with your children and remember it fondly. Our Canadian Snowbird friends can attest to the fact that Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch is not just for kids.
One day last week, I had mentioned that Picacho Peak was a wildflower go-to hot spot this year, according to all the posts we see on Facebook. Of course, this inspired the interest of many in Southern Arizona. Friend Wendy had asked me if there was anything else to see or anywhere to eat up there. Uh no. Nowhere to eat for miles. Probably Casa Grande or Florence would be the closest. BUT, I said, there is the Ostrich Ranch just south of Picacho Peak. You will enjoy it. And boy did they. If you have not been, go there before it starts getting hot, although it is a bit quieter, after school gets out. The days and hours that they are open change in May.
Wendy and Richard took plenty of pictures for those of you who cannot make it to the famed farm. I created a little slide show with them, complete with captions. If you hover over the slide the show will stop and reveal the text. Otherwise, after it loads, it will play and advance every few seconds. Take a look, and enjoy, as Richard and Wendy obviously are.
Please Note: The Monster Truck is not currently active. Here is a link to our previous post about the Ostrich Ranch including the monster truck and more slides! Fun place for pics.
