While almost all of the writing and photography on Southern Arizona Guide is either mine or Ms. Karen’s, occasionally we have visitors who share something noteworthy. And we are happy to pass them along to you.

Laura Specht wrote: “This was a real treat!! We were traveling to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument on Highway 85. We came upon “The Bottle Tree” so we stopped to have a look. It’s quiet and then..,, Heehaw Heehaw Heehaw!!! My friend and I both turn to see 9 Burros across the 2 lane highway and slowly walk across to get a better look. They were quite a sight to see!! A Memory for the 4 of us on Our Wild West Adventure!! WOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!”

Laura also shared some good photos of her adventure to Gleeson, one of several ghost town we visit on my Ghost Town Tours.

“This Ghost Town [Gleeson] was a great stop. So much info and artifacts to share with everyone! The “caretaker” gal there was really sweet. A Great Stop!!”

Inside Gleeson Jail are many artifacts that have been collected by Joe Bono who was raised in this old copper mining town and now owns it. I asked Laura if she also saw the inside of the Gleeson Saloon. Nope. She missed that one.
