4th Avenue Street Fair: A Slideshow.
The 4th Avenue Street Fair happens twice a year. Over two and a half days, three hundred thousand people descend on about a five block section of 4th Avenue in Downtown Tucson to shop, eat, and otherwise celebrate life. Neighbor Roy & I were among them on a sunny, 65-degree Saturday afternoon last weekend. For a list of the upcoming street fairs through 2016, visit the site here.
This festival is mainly about art in all its many creative forms. In the two or so hours we were here, we didn’t get to half of the exhibitors. We did have a pretty good lunch at the Surly Wench Pub, where we sat at a table, sipped a pint, and enjoyed some tacos. Of course there was plenty of food on the street, particularly BBQ. But the few areas with tables & chairs were more than occupied. Neither Roy nor I find walking around holding a plate of food and trying to eat enjoyable. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the overall street fair experience and saw some amazing art. View the slideshow below.
