The Tale of William Oury
Occasionally we post other works that appeal to us and we believe will appeal to our fan base. It is a video about William Oury, a Tucson Pioneer who has a neighborhood center in the Barrio Anita named after him.
This is a great little video prepared by the youth of Barrio Anita and the Borderlands Theatre.
Borderlands Theatre is a unique theatre company, a champion of the diverse groups that inhabit this borderland region.
Here is the text that accompanies the video:
“We’re so proud of this video collaboration with Barrio Anita youth and Borderlands Theater artists that we’re sharing it with you! We received so much great feed back about the event and this video that we don’t want you to feel left out! The video storyboards were done by Barrio Anita youth, T Moreno and Louis “Junior” Romero and narrated by Davis Bilingual, an elementary school second-grader, Marianna Alvarez-Espinosa. Original script by Marc David Pinate. Video chopped and animated by Adam Cooper-Teran. The idea for the video came from Barrio Anita residents’ concerns about the namesake of the neighborhood center. Let us know what you think. Should the name change?
