A Visit to Gammons Gulch
One day last year, as we were on our way to discover our version of Muleshoe Ranch Preserve, a Nature Conservancy property, we ran across a little known gem in the middle of nowhere, kinda like John and Sandy’s Rattlesnake Crafts and Rocks. We came across a sign for Gammons Gulch. Not ones to pass up a curiosity, we decided to take a detour. As luck would have it, Jay Gammon was in the process of giving a tour, which we gladly joined.
Gammons Gulch is the 40 year Labor of Love, gathered and built by Jay and Joanne Gammons. Gammons Gulch has been used for Hollywood movie sets and the Gammons encourage small parties, groups, weddings and Student filming as well.
Jay’s stories of the days he and his father worked security for the movie industry will delight you. A museum of memorabilia is on site as well. Bring a picnic, enjoy a sarsparilla in the old saloon while Jay plays the piano or banjo for you. Leave a big tip.
