Years Asian Bistro & BBQ: A Dining Review

Neighbor Roy and I went to Years Asian Bistro one Friday afternoon. We had never seen it before even though it is located in the strip mall shopping center with Best Buy and Walmart on Wetmore; only at the very east end. We were greeted at the front door by Sheldon, a young man of clearly Asian decent. Turns out, he is Chinese from Hong Kong and speaks fluent English.
I ordered a glass of wine: Pinot Grigio from Italy. Roy ordered Jasmine tea. Then I ordered Sweet and Sour Pork with white rice, broccoli, hot & spicy soup, and an egg roll. Roy ordered Chicken Lo Mein and two Fried Vegetable Rolls.
My Sweet & Sour Pork was very tasty, the meat was tender and the sauce was delicious: sweet yet tangy. The soup was indeed hot & spicy.
Note: the only utensils we were offered were chop sticks, except for the soup spoon.
I asked Roy for his opinion. He said,
“I would rate the lo-mein as one of the three best in Tucson. It was full of a variety of veggies, a mountain of noodles and plenty of chicken. It was served with the best Jasmine tea I have had in quite a while. Certainly, this place deserves a follow-up visit to explore other dishes. The restaurant was clean and tidy, with a modern décor. And the wait staff was knowledgeable about the menu and service was prompt. All in all I give it 4 saguaros.”
With Roy, I concur. Four Saguaros.
Years delivers within 4 miles and you can order online for takeout or dining in. They have an extensive menu with dishes you don’t see in most American Asian Restaurants in Tucson. Sheldon indicated that they have been open about 6 months. No wonder we had not heard of it. Sure to be a popular place. Cheers to Years!
