Looking for Summer Classes for the Kids in 2015?
Summer will soon be upon us. And the time is upon us to find meaningful, yet fun, things for our children to do during their time off while we still toil the daily grind. Here is a list of ideas and Links to Sites that have extensive lists of things for your kid to do this Summer.
• The Desert Museum has offerings for Kids this Summer. Museum Explorers Camp for children entering grades 1-6. Day camps are offered either the week of June 8 or the week of July 13. New offerings include 5 day camps. More information at the http://DesertMuseum.org/kids.
• The Tucson Museum of Art will offer summer classes for children ages 5-13, each week tailored for their age group. Classes will be offered each week, June 2 – August 1 and is just $100 for the week. For more information see the Website at Tucson Museum of Art. Classes are small and fill up quickly.
• The Museum of Miniatures is offers week long camps for children ages 5-7 and 8-12. The classes are from 9-12pm and run from June 8 -July 24, each week featuring a different project. In the afternoon Drop-in Clubhouse is offered on a daily basis from 1-4 pm. For detailed information visit the Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures. Classes are limited, so sign up early.
• The Children’s Museum offers a full line of Summer Camps for children ages 5-10. June 1 – August 5
• Tucson Botanical Gardens offers: PLANT POWER: Summer Camps for Grades 1-3. June 1-5 and grades 4-6, June 15-19 from 8-4pm. Plants make life possible on earth and play a major role in our everyday lives. A week-long exploration of human interactions with plants.
• If your child is interested in the Glass Arts, check out the Sonoran Glass School. They are sure to have a number of classes to fit your needs.
• The YMCA has an extensive curriculum for kids 5-16 covering a variety of subjects. Check it out.
• The City of Tucson offers Youth and Teen programs throughout the summer. Check it out here.
•The Oro Valley Aquatics Center is also giving Swim Lessons.

• The International Wildlife Museum has not updated their summer schedule yet. Visit the website here.
• Tanque Verde Ranch offers Kid’s Day Camp, horseback riding of course, for kids ages 7-15.

• Live Theatre Workshop on the Eastside has Summer Camps for your aspiring actor or actress. Day camps for the young ones and week camps for older kids June – July.
• Troubadour Theatre is offering a variety of summer camps, from Acting to Music to comic book creation for your budding artist.
• Tubac Center of the Arts has announced a 1-4 week program in June for kids between the ages of 6 and 14.
