Sabino Canyon: A Late Summer Pictorial!
Here are a few images of Sabino Canyon in late September 2014. The monsoons have been generous with their imported rains this season. So our favorite desert canyon was quite green in the late summer. Now is the perfect time to hike Sabino Canyon.

In late September 2014, Neighbor Roy & I took the Sabino Canyon tram to the end at Stop #9. Then walked down to Stop #8 to photograph Sabino Creek. Then we worked our way down to Stop #5 which you see here. Although there had been a lot of rain this monsoon season, the creek was low and hardly flowing. Yet, for a “desert”, the sides of the canyon were green.

Looking almost straight up at a massive rock outcropping 700 feet above us, Sabino Canyon has a tendency to make us feel small.

Taken from Sabino Canyon Visitor Center while waiting for the Tram ticket window to open at 9AM, the clouds caused the light on the Catalina Mountains to change continuously.
