Join Us On 3 Guided Tours In May!
Jim Gressinger, publisher of Southern Arizona Guide, will lead 3 guided tours this month.
Bisbee Overnight Tour: Thursday May 21st and Friday May 22nd. On our way to historic Bisbee, we’ll check out a couple of interesting ghost towns. On Thursday PM, we’ll take a guided tour of Old Town before enjoying a fine dinner at one of Bisbee’s best restaurants. We overnight in an historic B&B where we will enjoy a made-to-order breakfast before starting our second day of adventures. Friday AM, Bisbee’s shops and galleries will be open and there will be plenty of time to explore them and/or take the tour of the Queen Mine. We will lunch in Bisbee or Tombstone, which ever the group wants to do. The $385 price includes: round-trip transportation, four really good meals, discounts at several local shops, admission to Queen Mine Tour, guided tour of Old Town, comfortable lodging in a historic setting, and a whole lotta fun. We leave from Tucson at 9 AM Thursday and return to Tucson about 5 PM Friday.
Tucson History & Libation Tour: Sunday May 24th. This is about a 3 hour walking tour plus lunch through historic Downtown to explore saloonkeeper George Hand’s 1870 Tucson. We use old photos, sketches, & maps to re-create Mr. Hand’s world … a world very different from ours today. Afterward we lunch at Maynards in the historic Southern Pacific Railroad depot. People who have taken this tour tell us how much they enjoyed learning about the early history of the Old Pueblo and seeing it through the eyes of the pioneers who lived it. We meet at the Mercado at 8 AM then hop on the Modern Streetcar to begin our journey back in time.
The $60 price includes: streetcar ticket, 2 museum admissions, a packet of historic information including readings from George Hand’s diary, & lunch at Maynard’s Kitchen.
