What is a Book Nook?
In the world of miniatures, Book Nooks refer to mini worlds that are contained to some degree and sized to nestle among the books on a typical bookcase. The term is often credited to a Japanese artist called Monde who made the idea popular. They are most typically three-dimensional dioramas (often depicting street scenes or alleys) that use forced perspective to draw in the viewer.
The Book Nooks we will be making in Projects 1 and 2 will have a finished size of approximately 6″w x 11.5″h x 9″d.
