Ancient Climates

Four and a half billion years of climatology Opening September 15th in the Friend’s House Gallery, the Gardens will host the exhibit, Ancient Climates; a tale of Earth’s climate history.  Developed by Biosphere 2, this exhibit explores all facets of our changing climate and features striking images of earth and space. Children and adults alike will enjoy peering through a microscope and discovering geological wonders.

Internationally known photographer Kate Breakey has been a tree aficionado for as long as she can remember. From her roots (literally!) in rural Southern Australia to the Sonoran Desert that she has called home for 17 years, Kate Breakey has photographed trees on every continent she has ever planted herself on. Tucson paper artist Mykl Wells, approached us with a concept to create oversized nature-inspired paper lanterns. After commissioning a prototype, and feeling confident that they are in fact waterproof, Mykl and our team will be installing 12-13 paper animals and plants throughout the Gardens.
