A Good Day In Tombstone: Dr. Jay’s Tombstone Walking Tour
In late May 2013, we enjoyed another day trip to Tombstone. When out-of-town guests are planning their first visit to Tombstone, we always recommend they take Dr. Jay’s Tombstone Walking Tour. His tours are entertaining, enlightening, and the best way to appreciate the real history of the most famous town in the Old West.
While Dr. Jay’s Tombstone Walking Tour is unique, his ceremonies, including weddings, can be even more original and fun.

This couple was in for several surprises as Dr. Jay officiated in the Old Tombstone Courthouse.
It was great fun when a mail order bride showed up and caused a brief commotion.
On SouthernArizonaGuide.com we have a lot of brief local histories. Understanding our unique heritage is the only way to truly appreciate what we have here. The most fun we’ve had since launching SouthernArizonaGuide.com in January 2012 is interviewing characters from our past. For example, we have these brief video interviews:
- Tom McLaury explaining how the Earps & that weasel Holliday are trying to force him & his cowboy friends into a gunfight.
- A Spanish soldado stationed at the Tucson Presidio in 1776 talking about his life in this isolated frontier of New Spain and complaining about how the Apaches don’t fight fair.
- The wife of a Spanish soldier at the Presidio talking about the May 1, 1782 Apache attack that would have wiped Tucson off the map, except for one thing.
