I imagine that anyone who lives in Tucson, Arizona has passed by the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch along I-10, at Picacho Peak many times. And I imagine that most Tucsonans have, as they passed by doing 85, thought to themselves that some day they would stop in and see what it’s all about.
On a perfect day in early April, we did just that. We weren’t expecting much. Just another American roadside attraction with a petting zoo and a couple of ostriches. I will admit in advance that we were WRONG. Rooster Cogburn is a HOOT AND A HALF!
It turns out that this family-owned and operated ranch is a great place for school-age kids; AND their parents and grandparents too. It’s one of Southern Arizona’s best attractions and we hardly know anyone who’s been there.
