Tombstone Historic Home Tour 2014: A Slideshow!
Saturday, December 6, 2014 was the first Tombstone Historic Home Tour. The event was sponsored by The Cameo Ladies of Tombstone, A.T. and Tombstone Forward. The tour was an especially rich experience because these were mostly homes from the historic era and beautifully furnished in period from 1879 to the early 1900’s. Most of the owners were dressed in period as were all of the many knowledgeable docents who led the actual tours through the interiors. The exception was the North Pole South home where owners and docents were dressed as Santa and his helpers.
Ms. Karen & I enjoyed ourselves immensely. The nicely-done guide booklet by Goose Flats Graphics that we picked up when we got our tickets included a street map and a brief history of each home. Once we had our tickets, it was just a matter of walking to each home in a prescribed order one through seven. Walking the back streets of Tombstone gives visitors a completely different historical perspective than the experience they get on Allen Street where most of the gunfights take place.
The images in this slideshow are of the exteriors as no interior photography was permitted. But what we found inside was absolutely amazing. Go next year. You will not be disappointed.
