Looking for interesting and educational things to do with your kids or grandkids this summer?  The Mineral Discover Center & Mission Mine Tour is one of the most fascinating attractions in Southern Arizona. It is only about a 15 minute drive south of Tucson and most of this adventure is air conditioned.

During this summer, the Mineral Discovery Center is open Tuesdays - Saturdays. However, the mine tours are on Saturdays only: currently 9:30AM; 11:00AM; 12:30PM; 2:00PM and 3:30PM. Adults: $9; Children 5 to 12: $6.


Mine Tour SignThe ASARCO Mineral Discover Center & Mission Mine Tour is only 15 miles south of Downtown Tucson. Take I-19 south and get off on Pima Mine Road (Exit 80). Desert Diamond Casino is on the east side of the freeway. The Discovery Center & Mine Tour are on the west side. Just follow the signs. ASARCO was founded in 1899 as American Smelting And Refining Company.
