I was out the one day to get some photographs of the sumptuous clouds that form at certain times of year, adding a certain amount of interest to an already amazingly photographic place.

Statue of Pancho Villa in Veinte de Agosto Park downtown. This little park commemorates Tucson's Aug. 20, 1775, birthday. Villa (not his real name) was, like all good revolutionaries, a thief and murderer, but also Mexico's version of Robbin Hood.

This statue honors the men of the Mormon Battalion (U.S.) who arrived in Tucson in 1846 on their way to San Diego, CA to fight in the Mexican War.
When the Mormon Battalion arrived here in 1846, Tucson was a small, dusty Mexican village.
